Apple Adds ‘Adaptive Power Notifications’ Toggle in iOS 26 Beta 7
Share
Apple is continuing to refine battery management in iOS 26, and the latest developer beta introduces a new toggle for Adaptive Power Notifications.
What Is Adaptive Power?
Adaptive Power is designed to help your iPhone stretch its battery life when usage is higher than usual. Instead of waiting until you’re at critically low battery, it makes smart adjustments in the background, including:
-
Lowering display brightness
-
Allowing some activities to take longer to complete
-
Auto-enabling Low Power Mode once the battery reaches 20%
Think of it as Apple’s proactive way of keeping you powered up just a little longer when your phone senses you’re running heavy.
The New Notifications Toggle
With iOS 26 beta 7, Apple has added a switch to control notifications related to Adaptive Power. This means you’ll now be able to choose whether or not you want to be alerted when iPhone adjusts performance to save battery.
You can find it here:
Settings → Battery → Power Mode → Adaptive Power Notifications
This gives users more control—some might want to know when their device is throttling performance, while others prefer it to happen quietly.
Other Improvements in Beta 7
-
Support for the Blood Oxygen app on Apple Watch has been reintroduced in the U.S.
-
Available on Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2.
-
Requires iOS 18.6.1 on iPhone and watchOS 11.6.1 on Apple Watch.
-
-
This fix follows last week’s update where Apple enabled a new software workaround after clearing a U.S. Customs ruling.
Takeaway: Adaptive Power Notifications may seem small, but it’s a thoughtful addition—giving you the choice to stay informed (or not) when iOS works in the background to save your battery.
