Apple has seeded a new beta firmware update (build 8A5324b) for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, bringing developers one step closer to the next wave of features for Apple’s popular earbuds. How to Install the AirPods Beta Firmware
Important: Once installed, beta firmware cannot be removed until Apple releases a public non-beta version.

Prerequisites:

iPhone/iPad running iOS 26 beta or later

Steps:

Connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the (i) next to your AirPods.

Scroll down to AirPods Beta Updates and toggle ON.
(For Mac: System Settings > Bluetooth > (i) > AirPods Beta Updates toggle.)

Enable AirPods Analytics Data for 96 hours to help Apple troubleshoot. Toggle this in the same AirPods Beta Updates section on iOS or macOS.
